Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels
- 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 4 tablespoons of butter
- Optional: 1 teaspoon of garlic powder or cheese powder for seasoning

Instructions:
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add 3 popcorn kernels to the pot and cover it with the lid.
- Once the kernels pop, add the remaining popcorn kernels to the pot and cover it again.
- Shake the pot gently to ensure the kernels pop evenly and to prevent burning.
- Listen for the popping to slow down, then remove the pot from the heat.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
- Pour the melted butter over the popped popcorn and sprinkle with salt.
- Toss the popcorn gently to coat evenly with butter and salt.
- If desired, sprinkle garlic powder or cheese powder for extra flavor and toss again.
